Pain au Levain

This French sourdough bread is bread at its simplest: just water, flour, and salt. It is a delightfully sour loaf made with Farmer Ground's Half White Flour. This sifted wheat flour has some of its original bran in order to provide the health benefits of a whole grain bread while still offering a soft crumb and a tall loaf. Classically, this bread shines dipped in olive oil or paired with a stinky cheese. Although uncharacteristic, the Small World staff also loves it for peanut butter and jelly sandwiches!
